  I asked to have an oil and filter change. He normally checks the other fluid. levels. 2 were low antifreeze and windshield wiper fluid. He DID NOT ASK if I wanted them filled. He went ahead and filled them. Charged $10.00, $4.25 + Tax respectively. Total 69.36

  I went to Woodys to get a state inspection, at the advice of my family. I should have learned my lesson the first time I went there because I didn't wear a cowboy hat or wear cowboy boots. Woody seems like a nice guy, but he doesnt know tint laws at all. If you read NC state law 32% is acceptable, but to Woody who, "Makes his money on state inspections." its not. The first time my back windows were borderline, so I ripped off the tint and got it done. It was barely 30% obviously because of the factory tint and I agreed it was not inspection ready. I got those windows retinted and made sure they tested 32% + before I left the tint shop. One year later and I come back to Woody's, and now he says, "35% or no state inspection.", though the photometer says 33%. The review by flickkid says its like Mayberry in Oxford and its more like Rip-me-off-ville. I can tell you since I used to work there, that better options exist than this shop.

  I went to this H & R Block because I was interested in the advance and I also wanted to compare the refund amount that I'd receive to what I had figured by doing them myself. I have done my own taxes for several of years, but I was just curious being that I had a few changes. Anyways, the "tax professional" that I was scheduled with was clueless! She took nearly 20 minutes just to enter my personal information and even longer to do my income. She had to call on the manager 3 times and then the manager just ended up assisting her throughout the entire, excruciating process. They both were confused and clearly missed the software training class because neither of them could figure out how to complete the last step to the refund advance process. After waiting so long and just sitting there watching those 2 watch the computer monitor, I just gathered all of my things and left. I came home and continued to prepare my taxes myself and my refund is the same as the figures they gave me, I just can't get an advance, which is fine by me. My advice to EVERYONE, if you are filing a basic tax return, DO IT YOURSELF! No sense in paying some random person to answer basic questions and entering basic information that you can do yourself for free. Oh, and I gave 1 star because the office was clean and the staff (aside from being slow and confused) were nice.☺

  My daughter had a tire blowout on I-85 with three tired kid in a hot car. No jack to replace the tire. She called me two states away and a google search turned up Woody's. They were there within minutes, towed her car, took everybody in while the tire was being repaired, and they were on the road in an hour. And we learned that Oxford is the original Mayberry. If you have a car problem near Oxford, NC, go to Woody's. Five stars. Its a no brainer.
